No Need for concrete base
All GardenWave buildings have a substantial wooden base frame and deploy adjustable steel feet to support the entire frame. There is no need to have concrete poured or your ground levelled. This means that not only do you save on this additional cost, but your garden is not altered. Also, Ordinary Portland cement (OPC) has traditionally been used as the binder material in concrete, however OPC has high embodied energy, with carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2-e), the measure used to compare the emissions from various greenhouse gases based upon their global warming potential, ranging from 0.66 to 0.82 kg of CO2 emitted for every kilogram manufactured. Structural Timber
The base and roof structure are formed solely from FSC approved C16 and C24 timber from renewable forests in Scandinavia.

EPDM roof covering (now standard on both OfficeWave, and GardenWave)
EPDM is one of the most environmentally friendly materials used today in the construction industry. In fact, the International Kyoto Ecology Agreement recommends EPDM as the best value sustainable eco-sound roofing available. The amount of energy required during the manufacturing process is far lower than other materials, and the cleaners, primers and adhesives used during installation have been developed specifically to reduce VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions. Post-industrial products can be recycled, used in the manufacturing of other roofing products and accessories, such as walkways and roofing tiles, which then reduces the impact on landfill. Source
 

Walls & Insulation
Wall insulation includes damp membrane made from recycled polyethylene, plastic drinking bottles. Recycled glass wool is used to  fill the wall cavity providing excellent insulation.
