Garden Wave: What We're Made Of

The Floor

For a GardenWave, we use a similar layering to our OfficeWave. We always use 200mm (8 x 2) C16 to create a strong, sturdy and quiet subframe. Next our Damp Proof Membrane stop any moisture from entering the building from below. Then 18mm Tongue and groove Chipboard flooring is placed down on top, this creates one firm and flat underlay. Finally, engineered oak floorboards (or your choice of flooring) are fitted as your finish to the layered floor.

The Walls / Roof

The curved walls on a GardenWave require a lot of components. To create a solid, structured cavity wall that is of premium quality. The Artificial Grass roof is purely cosmetic and optional, but has become a corner stone of the GardenWave design. The Grass sits on top of a single sheet of EPDM Rubber. The rubber is an absolute barrier to stop the chance of leaking. The roof is shaped with 2 layers of 5.5mm plywood following the curve to make the whole structure ridged. Then a breathable membrane is layered to allow air circulation throughout. The framework throughout the building is treated C16, again to prevent any kind of water or moisture damage. All of our builds are insulated with loft insulation and sealed in with damp proof membrane. The interior of the GardenWave has an inner Plywood skin as standard but we would always recommend a interior cladding to finish the inside nicely.

Assembly / Construction

The GardenWave , like the OfficeWave, is pre-fabricated in one of our workshops and made into pieces. This is done for a few reasons.

-Some locations do not have suitable access for us to load large sections into.

-We also do this to save as much time on-site as possible.

-The curve in the roof has to be done on site, this insures roof will keep its shape and will fit together flush.
